2) She had mad the pin cushion laboriously out of silk and cotton but for filling it she had used although unknowingly of its importance the large sheaf of papers containing her fathers great speech for the port authority. When found guilty she was beaten up by her father. So making a pin cushion gave her tears instead of joy.
5) One day when she was watching their neighbour Mr.Macdonald and his children playing in the yard she thought of her giant like father(as she thought him to be) and decided there were different kinds of fathers as her relationship with her father was not like Mr.Macdonald had with his children

If u think it is Mr Macdonald the Reason would be : his pleasant attitude towards his children and his behaviour that allowed his children to have a free talk with him.
If u think it is Kezia's father then the reason is: Although not as friendly and good behaviour with his child his big and caring and loving heart.
