Answer 1:- "SURDS" are the Irrational Roots which Cannot be written in the form of p/q.

Ex:-

●√36 can be Written as 6.

Hence, It is a Rational Root & It isn't a Surd.

●√2 = 1.4142.......... It's a Irrational Root.

Hence, It's a Surd.

Answer 2:- Rationalisation can be defined as the Removal of Root from the Denominator of any Fraction to the Numerator.

Ex:-

1/√2.

To Rationalise 1/√2.

We need to Multiply √2 on both Numerator as well as on Denominator.

1/√2 × √2/√2

=> √2/2.
