The arrangement of petals and sepals in a flower bud before it opens is called aestivation.

The arrangement of petals or sepals on which they are overlap each other is called twisted aestivation.

EX:- Hibiscus( China rose).

One petal or sepal that is overlapped with internal of both marginsis called imbricate aestivation.

EX:- Gulmohar,cassia

Ex: cassia , Gulmohur.

Twisted aestivation : Margin of one appendage overlaps that of the next one and so on
