2. When we do vigorous exercise , the muscles do not get enough oxygen and so they do anaerobic respiration. In this the muscles starts producing lactic acid and carbon dioxide as the products.

pyruvic acid is formed from glucose by the cycle or process called glycolysis which takes place in cytoplasm in almost all organisms.

This pyruvate or pyruvic acid enter in many different cycle to produce the energy driving force of the body i.e ATP.

(A) in this process there is no presence of oxygen (anaerobic) which occurs in microorganisms with the help of certain enzyme. Pyruvate formed is converted to ethylalcohol + CO2. And ATP is released.

(B) In this process during the heavy exercise in our muscles the oxygen availability is less and pyruvic acid gets converted to lactic acid (which is the main reason for causing muscle cramps) and ATP is released.
