A frog fell into a hole that was 14½ feet deep. He could jump 3 feet, but he slid back a foot each time he jumped. How many jumps does it take him to get out of the hole..❓❓

He needs to to jump 7 times as:
3×7=21.
It can jump 21 feet up wards.
Then it will slide down 7feet.
So,21-7=14.

7 jumps. with each jumps inside the hole he covers 2 feet (3feet jump - 1 foot slide). So after 5th jump he is (back) at 10. jumps 3 feet… ah, nearly out, but slides back to 12.. so that is where he is after 6th jump.
Now with 7th jump he gets from 12 to 15, so well outside of the hole… no reason he would slide back down 1 foot…
