Modesty is being a bit diplomatic in order to avoid hurting anyone or being cautious about what you say or how you behave. It is a bit manipulated.

Whereas being honest is being upright about the truth or about the matter in discussions and being open about it. This is a very rare trait that we see in people .

Most of us are modest. Honest people are often tagged as rude and insensitive and are not liked by many. However, this is because there is a very thin line between being honest and being rude, arrogant and sensitive. Be polite and honest at the same time.

If you are wearing a dress that does not suit you:

A modest person will say no you look good whereas an honest person would say this is not looking good and you should try something else. Thats the basic difference.
