why is here ZnO while valency of zinc is 2 and valency of oxygen is 2
then why is valency not exposed in it

Explanation:

Here ZnO is written because the valency of both Zn and O is 2.

And we have to simply the valency if it can be hence 2 and 2 cancel each other.

It does not indicate that exchange of ions is not there, without it new compound cannot be formed.
