meristematic tissues are tissues which are consisiting of young actively dividing cells. They have no intercellular spaces in between them.There cells are living. each cell contains a dense protoplasm with a large centrally located nucleus and a thin cell wall. vacuoles are either small or absent. The cells are more or less alike in shape being either spherical, oval or polygonal.
