By remainder theorem
To find 7^2000 / 23
Answer..
= 7^2000 / 23
= (7)^2)^1000) / 23
= (49)^1000 / 23
Divide ...49/23
remainder = +3 and -20
Therefore.... answer !!

but actually in the answer section it shows 8,it's probably because if 3 is the remainder when 49/23,then it won't remain the same if it is 49^1000
