A euphemism is an innocuous word or expression used in place of one that may be found offensive or suggest something unpleasant. Some euphemisms are intended to amuse, while others use bland, inoffensive terms for concepts that the user wishes to downplay.

The definition of antithesis is "a contrary or opposite opinion, concept, or characteristic." ... In a less obvious sense, however, the concept of antithesis is widely used in literature and film. In fact, it's a rhetorical device used to paint a picture without obviously stating that one character is against the other.
