The gravitational force on the planet is 19.6 m/s sq

Gravitational force on earth is 9.8 m/s sq

We know that

9.8 * 2 = 19.6

9.8 = 1/2 * 19.6

9.8 = 19.6 /2

Thus, gravitational force on the earth is half the gravitational force on earth.

If the initial velocity is kept same on both the planets, the Hehe reached by the object in earth will also be half times the height reached by the object on the planet.

Hope this helps you

Acceleration on the other planet is 19.6 ms^-2.

Now , initial velocity = v.

final velocity = 0

Thus , distance covered on other planet = (V^2 + v^2 )/2a {since , v2 =u2-2as→ s = v2+ u2/2a }

= V^2- v2 /-39.2

=u^2 /39.2

Similarly ,

On earth the distance travelled by the body = u^2 /2×9.8= u^2 /19.6 .

On comparing both the distances , we get

Distance on the earth is 1/2 times that on the another planet .

Thus , required answer 1/2 times.

MusicViking: and not m/s ^2
MusicViking: oh
MusicViking: it should be m/s na
MusicViking: just askin
