Solution:
The Identity is → (X+A) (X+B) = X²+(A+B)X + AB
1. 5.1 × 5.2 = (5+.1)×(5+.2)=5² + (.1+.2)×5 +(.1)(.2)=25+(.3)×5+0.02=25+1.5+0.02
= 26.5+0.02
=26.52
2. 9.7×9.8 = (9+.7)×(9+.8)
= 9² +(0.7+0.8)×9+ 0.7×0.8
= 81 + (1.5)×9 + 0.56
= 81 +13.5 + 0.56
= 94.50 + 0.56
= 95.06
