the initial velocity of kangaroo may be 0 if it starts from rest or it would not be equal to zero if the kangaroo is continuously jumping then the final velocity will be zero.

v^2=u^2+2as

(0)^2 = u^2 +2(10)(2.5)

0 = u^2 + 50

underroot -50
