jallianwala bhag tragedy on april 13,1919 was the immediate cause of the non cooperation movement in which a peaceful crowd was gathered for the arrest of leaders like dr. saiffudhin kitchul and dr.satya pal. the bagh had only 2 exit it's other three exists were closed by buildings.general Dyer the military commander of amritsar surrounded the bagh with his sepoys and ordered them to open fire on the crowd thus killing 1000 of people this shook the nation at the massacre of innocent people.
