THE QUESTION IS :-

what do you observe when you put a few drops of acetic acid to a test tube containing:-


1) phenolphthalein
2) Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate

phenolphthalein will remain colourless and in sodium hydrogen carbonate brisk effervescence is there

Hi,


1) Phenolphthalein

Phenolphthalein will remain colourless due to acidic medium (acetic acid).

2) Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate

When added to sodium hydrogen carbonate powder, acetic acid causes effervescence because of the evolution of carbon dioxide gas in the process.
