the osmosis still continue upto the concentration of both will equal means in the water and the the thing whose osmosis is held.the semi- permeable membrane is the separation of the both.and osmosis takes place by it.

hope that it will help you

debjit20: i think it's semi-permeable membrane

Answer:

  • Osmosis process has a duration extending until there is no more differential of solids from one side of the semipermeable membrane to the other: Simply put, osmosis stops when concentration equalizes. Challenge in water purification by reverse osmosis is membrane fouling.
