HEY MATE HERE IS URR ANSWER
a.Atoms of carbon do not have free electrons in the conduction band. Therefore they do not conduct well at room temperature. If the temperature is increased, more electrons acquire energy and start contributing to conduction.
b.. Most of the saturatedhydrocarbons are alkanes. So, the structures in which the carbon atoms are arranged in a ring are called ascycloalkanes, with a general formula of CnH₂n.

hey mate here is your answer

a) most of the carbon compounds form covalent bonds to attend their stable electronic configuration.so there is no presence of free electrons which will disassociate into ions. hence most of the carbon compounds are poor conductors of electricity...

b) answer of this question is in attachment

hope it will help you
