Hey Guys,

if the sum of n terms of an ap is and np + 1/2 n (n-1)Q, where P and Q are consonants , find the difference ?

Given,

We have to asume A1 , A2 , A3 be the terms if given A.P

So,

S_n = a_1 +a_2+a_3+.....+a_n-1 +a_n = \\<br /><br />


 = np +  \frac{1}{2} n(n - 1)q \\  \\ s1 = a1 = p


S2 = a1+a2 = 2p + q

A2 = S2-s1 = P + Q

Hence,

The common difference is given by D = A2 - A1
= (p+Q) -p = Q

so is the required answer.
