Hey guys! Please help me with this maths question..

Ankit is batting in a cricket match. He has already scored 75% of the targetruns. He needs 40 more runs to win. How many runs has he already scored?

Answer 1

75% scored means he remains 25% in target

and 25% = 40

25% x 3 = 40 x 3

75% = 120

he already scored = 120 runs

LET THE TOTAL RUNS TO BE SCORE BE X

ATQ,

$\large{x - x \times\frac{75}{100}= \:40}$

$\large{x - x \times \frac{3}{4}= \: 40 }$

$\large {x - \frac{3x}{4}=40}$

$\large{ \frac{x}{4}=40}$

$\large {x= \: 40 \times 4}$

$\huge \boxed{x= \: 160}$
