Answer:

(i) - 1.5, 1.66

(ii) 4% decrease

Step-by-step explanation:

(i)

Let the initial(original) price be 'x'.

Given that there is 10% reduction in the price of wheat.

Reduced price of wheat = x * (90/100)

                                        = 90x/100

                                        = 9x/10.

According to the given condition,

⇒ (30/9x/10) - (30/x) = 2

⇒ (300/9x) - (30/x) = 2

⇒ 30 = 18x

⇒ x = 5/3

⇒ x = 1.66

Then, reduction of price = 9x/10

                                        = 9(1.66)/10

                                        = ~1.5

Therefore:

Reduced price of wheat = 1.5 rupee

Original price of wheat = 1.66 rupee.

(ii)

Let the initial base be b and height be h cm.

Initial Area = (1/2) * b * h

        = (1/2)bh cm².

(i)

Given that height is decreased by 20% and base is increased by 20%.

New height = (80% of h)

                   = (80h/100) cm

                   = 4h/5 cm.

New base = (120% of b)

                 = (120b/100) cm

                 = (6b/5) cm.

New area = (1/2 * 4h/5 * 6b/5)

                = (24/50 bh) cm².

Decreased area = (1/2bh - 24/50 bh) cm²

                           = (1/50 bh) cm²

% decrease = (bh/50 * 2/bh * 100)

                    = 4%.

Therefore, decrease in area = 4%.

Hope it helps!
