Highest ionisation potential is helium

christen: cn u explain me???
gungun61: Yes ofcourse
gungun61: the amount of energy required to remove an electron from the atom decreases. Ionization potential, thus, decreases down a group. The element with highest ionization potential in the periodic table is Helium while the element with thelowest ionization potential is Caesium .
christen: okay... Thank you very much...
gungun61: your welcome
