1 potential energy --->kinetic energy --->electrical energy.

2.800j is wasted

So, percentage =800/2000*100=40%.

3. 1. in movement of wheel.

2. In flow of water.

According to the question, the main energy changes are :-

1. Potential Energy converts in Kinetic Energy.

Initially water is at higher level, so it has potential energy stored in it. It is then made to flow from upper level to lower level, during which potential energy changes into Kinetic energy.

2. This Kinetic energy is used by generator to convert it in electrical energy.

The second part of the question is

Energy supplied = 2000 J

and energy used (or utilised) = 1200 J

Therefore, energy wasted = (Supplied Energy) - ( Energy Used )

i.e., energy wasted = 2000 J - 1200 J

= 800 J

Percentage of energy wasted

= {(wasted energy)/(energy supplied)}. *100 %

=(800/2000)*100 %

=40 %

The third part asks about how energy is wasted, and the two of them can be

i) heat, and ii) friction.

Hope it helps!
