Atom is derived from Greek which means inseparable or indivisible. Earlier, it was conceived that atoms were the smallest units which could not be divided. Later, it was found that atoms were made of electrons (Negative charge), protons (Positive charge) and neutrons (Neutral charge). An atom is always stable and consists of an equal number of protons and electrons. Everything in this world is made up of atoms. Reactivity of atoms and their chemical properties can be determined by the help of Modern Periodic Table.
