The particles are P,Q and R .

They have same velocities and same initial and velocities too.

Hence they can meet only in the place which is equidistant from the three points.

By this statement we can analyze that the particles will meet at the centroid of the triangle.


Component of velocity = v cos theta

                                      = v cos 60°

                                      = v ( 1/2 )

                                      = v/2

This is the rate in which separation decreases between P and Q.

v + v/2 = 3 v/2

This is the relative speed .


Relative distance covered by each particle = s

Time = relative distance / relative speed

Here distance = s

So s / 3 v / 2

= 2 s / 3 v
