Two numbers are in the ratio 5:3. If they differ by 18, what are the numbers?
plz answer fast..

let both the no s be 5x and 3x....
according to question
5x-3x = 18

2x = 18
x= 9.....

so nos

5x = 5×9 = 45
3x = 3×9 = 27....

no s are 45 and 27

Let one number = 5x &

other number=3x

=) 5x-3x= 18

=) 2x= 18

=) x= 18/2

=) x= 9

So,

One number, 5x= 5× 9= 45

Other number, 3x= 3×9= 27
