A coalition government is a cabinet of a parliamentary government in which multiple political parties cooperate, reducing the dominance of any one party within that "coalition". The usual reason for this arrangement is that no party on its own can achieve a majority in the parliament

power sharing arrangement can also be seen in the way political parties, pressure groups and movements control or influence those in power. in a democracy, the citizens must have freedom to choose among various contenders of parties for power. In a democracy power is shared among different parties that represent different ideology and social groups. sometimes, this kind of sharing can be direct, when two or more parties form an alliance to contest elections. If their alliance is elected, they form a coalition government and thus, share power.
