22/7 is not the exact value of pie
Pi is an irrational number—you can't write it down as a non-infinite decimal. This means you need an approximate value for Pi. The simplest approximation for Pi is just 3. ... Again, this is just an approximation but it is better than the value of 3 (actually22/7 is closer to Pi than just writing 3.14

IshmeetLotey: How did people came to know that value of pie is 22/7 not any other number...!!??
iamalpha: Pi is also equal to 180 degrees
iamalpha: It doesnot have any definite value...its just an alphabet of the Greek series

Actually, π was never given the value 22/7.

Infact, π is the ratio of circumference of a circle and its diameter.

Consider a circle of radius r then,

π=2πr÷2r

2πr= circumference of circle

2r = diameter of circle

We actually came to know that this ratio is constant for all the circles and thus assigned the value..

π= 3.14159265358969323846…. a non terminating value.

IshmeetLotey: Yes ... It helps
IshmeetLotey: I really don't know
