pH is the measure of Hydrogen ions in something. Things with low concentrations of these ions we call acid. Things with high concentrations of these ions we call base.

Two important ways pH impacts everyday life is in 1) water and in 2) soil.

When an acid and a base meet, they form water. Our bodies perform the best at a particular pH. So, the pH in our bodies at any given time determines if we should take in more vegetables, fruits, nuts, seafood, or dairy. Our cells function in only a narrow range of pH. Improper pH will cause kidney problems, thyroid problems, metabolism disorders, difficulty for your body in the way it processes oxygen, higher cortisol, loss of muscle mass (your body starts to cannibalize itself to maintain the necessary pH), and other health problems.

Each plant has a soil pH range that creates the most nutritious produce and the healthiest plant. This impacts you everyday you grow something or purchase something from the grocer.

Another category of how pH interacts with us everyday is by our sense of taste and smell. The next time you “take time to smell the roses” or taste your favorite food with your favorite condiments you are proving that we have two finely tuned pH detectors in our body. Our senses of taste and smell tell us quickly if something is acidic or basic, salty, sour, bitter or sweet, or if it has the smell of death or life. Take time to contemplate that you are a walking-around wonder

One thorn in this rose of pH is that it poses an interesting problem in origin of life arguments. It is not insurmountable, but it is trickier than one might think at first blush. Primordial water would tend to neutralize any acid or base. This would be a deterrent to making more complicated life. So there is a frontier here for someone to find how the “primordial soup” could have produced acids and bases in an ocean of neutral water

1.our stomach secretes hcl for digestion when the hcl secretion is.more we start feeling irritation so we take antacids to reduce it.

2.when we eat more sugar content food items the ph value of our mouth will be increase.as a result we can use base substance to neutralize it like toothpaste.normal ph of mouth is 5.5.

3.when the soil ph level increase we cannot able to grow crops in it so farmers use manure to neutralize it.

4.when we hurt by ant or bee we use nahco3 which is base substance by that we can neutralize it.

mark be as brain list please friend

TheLostMonk: it has little acidic character too. but it is a mild base.
TheLostMonk: NAHCo3 is correct answer.
subashree06: its ok
TheLostMonk: No problem :)
