For the same angle of incidence in media A,B and C, the angles of refraction are 200
, 300
and 400
respectively. In

Given,

Angles of refraction in three media :-

20°, 30°, 40°

Here,

Speed of light ∝ Angle of refraction

Therefore, if angle of refraction is less, then the speed of light is less.

Thus, speed of light is more where the angle of refraction is more.

Hence, the medium with angle of refraction 30° has the maximum speed of light.

From Snell’s law

n = sin i /sin r = c/v

Since c and sin i are constant therefore sin r is directly proportional to v

Therefore velocity of light is maximum in medium C.
