1)The carbon compounds, used as afuel, have high calorific values. Therefore, carbon and its compounds are used as fuels for most applications. Most of the carbon compounds give a lot of heat and light when burnt in air. Saturated hydrocarbons burn with a clean flame and no smoke is produced.

2)Compounds of carbon are defined as chemical substances containingcarbon. More compounds of carbonexist than any other chemical element except for hydrogen. Organic carboncompounds are far more numerous than inorganic carbon compounds. In general bonds of carbon with other elements are covalent bonds.Among the most common of these minerals are the carbonates of calcium (CaCO 3 ) and magnesium (MgCO 3 ). Carbon also occurs in the form of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in the atmosphere.

  1. They are used as fuels as they are flamable and show high calorific value plus they release a lot of heat.
  2. Carbon occurs as organic compounds and in the form of it's oxide.

Mark it as brainliest plzzz.
