Many boys are standing in the line.

RR7: I questioned: many a boy not many boys
snigdha74: ‘many a boy’ is grammatically incorrect.
RR7: No I have asked this question from book.
snigdha74: Even so, it isn’t often used in vernacular speech. I came to a realization that it is more of an idiomatic phrase, i.e. a phrase used more often in literary or poetic terms. In that case, ‘is’ the right article to be used. “Many boys” and “‘many a boy” carry a same meaning, but for the latter, the srticle to be used is ‘are’.
snigdha74: article*
