Hey I have an interesting question


How the valency of oxygen is 2 .it should be 6 because the number of electrons in valence shell is 6.please answer with proper explanation.

since the last shell of Oxygen has 6 electrons

it need 2 electrons to complete the shell

hence 2 electrons are needed.
