SHORT NOTE ON MALIK KAFUR

= Malik Kafur was originally a Hindu slave who fell into the hands of the Muslims at Cambay after the conquest of Gujarat. Alauddin's general Nusrat Khan had paid 1,000 dinars to buy him and that is why Malik Kafur is also known as the “Hazardinari.”

Malik Kafur was the famous Commander - in - Cheif of Alauddin Khalji.

Short Note on Malik Kafur :-

• Malik Kafur was the Commander in Chief of Alauddin Khaji's army.

• He was also known as Taj al-Din Izz al-Dawla.

• He was actually caught by Nusrat Khan the general of Alauddin Khalji while they were invading Gujarat.

• Being the Commander, he defeated the Mongol Invaders in the year 1306.

• He served as a Governor of Devgiri during the years 1313 to 1315.

• He lead many successful expeditions to the south side of India.

• After the death of Alauddin Khalji, he appointed Alauddin's younger son Shihabuddin Omar as the ruler of the Empire.

• But Malik Kafur controlled all the actions done by Shihabuddin Omar. He was the actual ruler.

• The former bodyguards of Alauddin Khalji got to know about Malik Kafur's intentions and decided to kill him for his betrayal.

• He died in the month of February 1316.
