Question -

X + Y = 5

2X - 3Y = 4

Answer ==>

By Elimination method,

X + Y = 5 } ×2

2X - 3Y = 4 }×1

2X + 2Y = 10

2X - 3Y = 4

(-) (+) (-)

________________

5Y = 6

Y = 6/5

Putting Y = 6/5 on X+Y = 5

we get,

X + 6/5 = 5

X = 5 - 6/5

X = 25-6/5

X = 19/5

Hence,

X = 6/5 And Y = 19/5

Checking -

Putting the values of X and Y on X + Y = 5

we get,

19/5 + 6/5 = 5

25/5 = 5

5 = 5

L•H•S = R•H•S

the answer is absolutely right...

X = 19/5 And Y = 6/5

here is your answer...........
