Your numbering is wrong...


Check out the attachment for the correct numbering!

The given compound is an ester.

The above two carbons are in the main chain and they get the numbers as 1 and 2. The other carbons attached with the O atom gets their numbers as

1^{\prime}, 2^{\prime}, etc

as they are not in the main chain.


Now, an oxygen with a double bond, is attached to the 5th carbon, making a ketone. However, priority of ester is more than ketone, so we shall use the prefix name for ketone, which is Oxo.


Thus, the IUPAC name of the compound is:

1^{\prime},4^{\prime}-dimethyl-5^{\prime}-oxo-pentyl- ethanote
