Let take the side of a square as s.,

Then the area1 is = s^2

Given is increasing the side by 10% = (1+10/100)*s = 1.1s

Now area2 is.,

(1.1s)^2 = 1.21*s^2

((area2-area1)/area1)*100 = ((1.21*s^2-s^2)/s^2)*100

= (s^2(1.21-1)/s^2)*100

= 0.21*100

21 Therefore 21% increase.,
