Calcium and iron are the minirals that can be eaten

answer 2nd:because thid vast land formed as a resukt of a filling of a deep depression where sediments got accumulated over thousands of years

1) Rock salt is a mineral that can be eaten..

2)plains can be formed by aerialy extensive lava flows or sediments. the volume of sediments aviailable to form plains in much larger than the surface of expensive lava flows.
