1) n=4 l=1 =>4p orbital
2)n=4 l=0=> 4s orbital
3) n=3 l=2=> 3p orbital
4) n=3 l=1=>3d orbital
then, according to Afbau principle energies of above mentiond orbitals
4p> 3d> 4s> 3p
2)n=4 l=0=> 4s orbital
3) n=3 l=2=> 3p orbital
4) n=3 l=1=>3d orbital
then, according to Afbau principle energies of above mentiond orbitals
4p> 3d> 4s> 3p

▶ Explanation :-
According to Afbass rule :-
n = n + l
1) Given : n = 4 and l = 1
n = 4 + 1
n = 5
∴ The shell can be 4p
2) Given : n = 4 and l = 0
n = 4 + 0
n = 4
∴ The shell can be 4s
3) Given : n = 3 and l = 2
n = 3 + 2
n = 5
∴ The shell can be 3d
4) Given : n = 3 and l = 1
n = 3 + 1
n = 4
∴ The shell can be 3p
In the above cases, we can observe that 4p and 3d have the same value, but 4p have the higher energy because in the periodic table 4p comes after 3d
4s and 3p have same value, but 4s comes after 3p. So 4s have the higher energy.
∴ Increasing order of the energy = ( 4 ) < ( 2 ) < ( 3 ) < ( 1 )
∴ Option ( b ) is correct
