Each level in a food chain is called trophic level.

The first level is known as producers which are always green plants.

The last level is of consumers which is mostly of human beings .

Collection of three or more than three trophic level makes the food chain.

For example- Grass ----> Deer---->lion .

Here grass is the producer.

Deer is the primary consumer

and lion is the secondary consumer.

There are four i.e. Producers, first consumers (primary), second consumers (secondary), third consumers (tertiary) and scavengers.
Producers are all the auto tropic beings such as plants that makes their food themselves with sunlight. Then it comes to consumers from herbivores to small carnivorous and omnivorous and large carnivorous. Then comes scavengers that eat decaying remains of other animals.
