These clouds are mainly made up of ice particles . They can be classified into cirrus ,cirrostratus and cirrocumulus. Cirrus clouds are mainly wispy . cirro-cumulus clouds look like groups of small waves . ,cirrostratus are like a bedsheets with wrinkles . They generally have a halo around them .

High clouds are generally found above 20,000ft.  

Explanation:

  • High cloud or cloud high (CM) is forms in advance of a developing weather. This cloud indicates change in the weather is on the way. These clouds produces precipitation but it re-evaporates due to rise in temperature on its way to the surface. There are three type of high cloud. They are  
  • Cirrus cloud, which looks like lock or tuft of hair.
  • Cirrocumulus cloud looking like heaped lock of hair.
  • Cirrostratus cloud which looks like flattened lock .
