Rizobium is a nitrogen fixing bacteria which is often dound in the nodes of leguminous plants and is in symbiosis relation the respective plants mainly pulses.

Being a nitrogen fixing bacteria it converts atmospheric nitrogen which is not easily consumed by plants into simple forms that is Nitarte and Nitrides which are directly taken up by plants.

We know that Nitrogen us an important component to mantain soil fertility. Hence by converting atmospheric nitrogen into simpler forms Rizobium enhances soil fertility.
