hello mate.

wax is a biomolecules that is a lipid which is made up of triglycerides and acid.

when we rub a cloth with wax then the cohesive force between the clothes molecule becomes weaker than the adhesive force between clothes and wax molecules that's why clothes become waterproof..

Answer: hey mate here is your answer

because wax is water resistant and when wax is rubbed it has a cohesive force in wax dominates the adhesive force  thus making it water proof
