Given : sec θ + tan θ = 7   ---- (1)

We know that sec^2 θ - tan^2 θ = 1

⇒ (sec θ + tan θ)(sec θ - tan θ) = 1

⇒ (7)(sec θ - tan θ) = 1

⇒ sec θ - tan θ = 1/7.

On solving (1) & (2), we get

⇒ sec θ + tan θ = 7

⇒ sec θ - tan θ = 1/7

   -------------------------

   2 sec θ = 50/7

      sec θ = 50/14.

Therefore, the value of sec θ = 50/14 (or) 25/7.
