Aluminium is the element having atomic number 13. it have 2 electrons in inner most shell, 8 electrons in middle shell and 3 in outermost shell.

it will always form cation because it is the property of metals to form cation and aluminium is also a metal that is why and also it is easy to lose 3 electron rather than gaining 5 electrons.....
