here zinc react with sulphuric acid to produce zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas

zn + h2so4 --> znso4 + h2

here due to evalution of hydrogen gas some bubbles can seen

and since it is exothermic reaction

the conical flask turn hot !

Activity 1.3⤵⤵

Aim :- Formation of hydrogen gas by action of dilute HCl on Zinc and testing H2 gas.

Apparatus :- Conical flask,tube,match stick.

Chemicals :- Zinc granules and dil.HCl.

Procedure:-

Take a few granules of zinc in a conical flask.

Add about 5ml of dil.HCl to the conical flask.

Observe the changes in the conical flask.

Dip the red litmus paper in it.

Observation:- Light of burning match stick put off with pop sound.

Conclusion:-This produces heat called as exothermic reaction.

Zn + 2HCl =》ZnCl2 + H2.
