⭐ KINDS OF SENTENCES :-
There are generally five kinds of sentences which are stated below with their definitions :
1) Assertive sentence : It is a sentence which states something, i.e., a statement.
2) Interrogative sentence : It is a sentence which asks a question.
3) Imperative sentence : It is a sentence that expresses a command, a request or an entreaty.
4) Optative sentence : It is a sentence that expresses desires or wishes and prayers.
5) Exclamatory sentence : It is a sentence which expresses the feeling of surprise, pity, wonder, sorrow or some other strong/sudeen feeling.
⭐ TYPES OF SENTENCES :-
There are generally three types of sentences, namely :
1) Simple sentence : It is a sentence consisting of only one clause, with a single subject and predicate.
2) Compound sentence : It is a sentence with more than one subject or predicate including some co-ordinating conjunctions.
3) Complex sentence : It is a sentence containing a subordinate clause or clauses.

Essentially no difference, 'Types' is slightly more formal, more 'scientific', and would appear in academic papers more often than 'kinds', perhaps. 'Kinds' and 'types' are nonetheless interchangeable.
