RAIN DROPS ARE ROUND BUT WHEN THEY FALL THEY APPEAR LIKE.... THEY HAVE TAILS.

Rain drops are not exactly spherical in shape.
The shape of rain drop is due to action of surface tension.
If the rain drop is small, then surface tension acts on the droplet and pulls it up in a sphere.
And if the rain drop is large, then pressure increases causing the rain drop to flatten
