• In English, there are two forms of narration. They are,

           - Direct speech

           - Indirect speech

• In direct speech, ‘actual words of the speaker’ are quoted. In ‘indirect speech’, the actual words are somewhat changed according to the tenses.  

• In order to convert direct to indirect speech, certain rules have to be followed like removing the quotation marks, using the word ‘that’, changing the tense, changing pronoun, change in time, and so on.  

• From the given sentence, quotation is removed and the tense and pronoun has been changed.
