.↪ SHIELDING EFFECT -- The phenomenon in which the panaltimate cell electrons acts as a screen or shield in between nucleus and valence shell electrons , thereby reducing nuclear charge is known as shielding effect .



↪ The panaltimate electrons repel this valence shell electrons to keep them loosely held with nucleus .

Shielding effect---when an electron attracted by the nucleus towards the centre of the atom then the other electron affected by the attraction and the attraction decreases in the form of spectra. This effect is known as Shielding effect.
