1. Fertilization occurs when one of the sperm cells fuses with the egg inside of an ovule. After fertilization occurs, each ovule develops into a seed. Each seed contains a tiny, undeveloped plant called an embryo. The ovarysurrounding the ovules develops into a fruit that contains one or more seeds.

2. The outer layer is the pericarp, which is the tissue that develops from the ovary wall of the flower and surrounds the seeds.

3. The embryo is developed from the zygote and the seed coat from the integuments of the ovule.

4. After fertilisation the female parts of the flower develop into a fruit. The ovules become seeds and the ovary wall becomes the rest of the fruit.
